Not My World
“This needs to end.”
A frustrated and emotionally spent Jaiden Rishel says to himself as he looks across his basement abode at a holographic image of his father: J. Rish. This is not the “Rish” that appeared at Frozen Over IX but one of youth, one that Jaiden grew up having a strong love/hate relationship with.
One that no matter what Jaiden did to impress him through the years, however hard he fought to get the attention of his father and to just let him into his world…it was not meant to be.
Jaiden looks at the still photograph of his father, wearing a navy suit as he stands at the head of a table of would be investors and big wigs, his trademark smile on his face as he points at a white board full of match ideas.
“This was never my world.”
He remembers the early days of CWF, when he was just a young child and his father would leave for days…weeks on end. He would hear of names like Angelica, Alex Cain, Big Sexay, Lionheart, Stunner, Angel, Andy Murray and so many more.
What he would never hear? His own name. He would never hear “I Love You”, either.
Jaiden grew up with a strong sense of jealousy and wasn’t afraid to show it. He wanted into the wrestling business so badly that he defied his fathers demands and went off to GCWA to become a wrestling superstar himself. Not only did he prove his father wrong that he could in fact step in the ring as an active competitor, he damn near became the World Champion there. It took the likes of fat fucks like the Big Bifford to finally put an end to Jaiden’s hopes and dreams of holding a gold strap.
Eventually, Jaiden would make his way back to Championship Wrestling Federation and through the years has had a tumultuous relationship with his father to say the least; but there is one thing that always stood true.
No matter the circumstances. No matter how many times either one of them stabbed each other in the back for their own selfish goals, he still loved his father.
That is why it was so easy to see past the facade that Chaolin Sahn, Anhellica and the Amoralists put in front of him at Frozen Over. Jaiden could see past the illusion, and knew instantly that the Tormented Soul and his dark poetry hid deep within the “skin” of his father.
“You used to tell me that, right dad? This was never my world. I used to be so jealous, so god damn angry that you just wouldn’t let me in. But through all of this…through all the years and everything you and I have put each other through, and now everything I’m seeing in this “world” with the demented Amoralists…you know what, I finally get it.”
Jaiden reflects on the moment the blade sliced through the throat of his “father”. The instant Rish dropped to the canvas, the illusion cleared and the form of Chaolin Sahn laid bleeding out on the canvas, Anhellica shrieking a demonic, echoing scream.
“I understand why you tried for so long to keep me out of this business now, dad. You knew the true evils lying within, because you had your hand in every single one of those “business decisions”. For better or for worse, you led an empire and made Championship Wrestling Federation a household name for years to come. Hell, centuries to come now. All this time I saw you do all this in a sense of amazement. A sense of envy. But now I know the truth.”
Jaiden looks at the picture of his father once again, a single tear dropping uncontrollably down his cheek.
“You didn’t try to keep me out of CWF because you were afraid I would get hurt in the ring. You kept me out of CWF so I wouldn’t get hurt outside it.”
Jaiden closes his eyes deep, blinking away the welling tears.
“I get it now, dad, but I’m afraid it’s too late. This is my world now, and I will do everything in me to save CWF. Even if it kills me.”
Jaiden gets up from the bed, taking a deep breath as he looks up at the cameras watching him, cracking his back. The Prince of CWF then does something uncharacteristic, rubbing his stomach as he looks off into the distance, almost as if he wants the camera to see him.
“I’m getting so hungry. Wonder if I could find Neezletoe and get him to make me one of those protein shakes…”
Jaiden raises an errant hand in the air as he speaks. Quickly making his way out of his basement abode, the Heir goes off to find his Lilliana.
