Gordy King

The pounding bass drum beat of "Heave Away" by The Fables reverberates throughout the arena as spotlights pan all over the darkened crowd. As the music builds, the spotlights all go out for a moment, before flashing to the entrance of the stage, where Gordy King stands, hockey stick aloft in the air.

Joey Garcia: "From Halifax, Nova Scotia, weighing 250lbs and standing 6'1", he is The Most Canadian Man Alive, GORDY KING!"

King smiles wide and mimes a slapshot with an invisible puck as he makes his way down the aisle at a brisk pace. The Most Canadian Man slides into the ring and ambles up the turnbuckles of his corner, looking out into the crowd before jumping down, testing the ropes, and preparing himself for battle.

Gordy is somewhat oblivious to what's around him. Happy-go-lucky and pleased to be part of the team, he's a simple man who has no ill intent. That said, the folks around him might, but they're his buds, so whatcha gonna do?

Always ready for a donnybrook. Drop the gloves and toss the stick aside, he's gonna pull your sweater over your noggin and give ya what-for. (In a more practical sense, a hybrid brawler, powerhouse, technician style. Think Bret Hart meets Claudio Castagnoli meets Stone Cold Steve Austin)

When the bell rings, Gordy goes from happy-go-lucky, friendly fella to a sadistic, violent, methodical wrestling machine. He is ruthless, relentless and mean. Once the match is over, win, lose or draw, he reverts to a polite, cheerful, sportsman-like good fellow.
